Yes. The program is designed to be flexible and self-paced.

Working at Heights, WHMIS, Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash, and Worker Awareness. Every student earns all five as part of the program, at both tiers.

Four of them — WHMIS, Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash awareness, and Worker Awareness — are completed online as part of the program. Working at Heights is different: Ontario law requires it to be delivered by a provider approved by the Chief Prevention Officer, including an in-person practical session, so it cannot be done fully online. TEA coordinates that in-person session with a CPO-approved provider near you, and it is included in the program. Students outside Ontario are pointed to their province's equivalent fall-protection requirement.

No. TEA does not license you, sponsor you, or place you in a job, and becoming an electrician still takes years of paid hours plus trade school. What TEA teaches is the part you can genuinely learn in 90 days — identification, language, and theory: what the material is called, what a drawing is telling you, why the safety rules exist, and how a job site actually runs. That is what gets a contractor to take a chance on you and start the apprenticeship.
